Build a professional calligraphy business with the help of the pros.

Find your ideal clients, command prices you're worth,
and have more time for the creative work you love.

Does this sound like you?

You've done a few client projects

and you've been told your work is beautiful. You're serious about starting a calligraphy business on the side, but you don't know where to start. How do you find the right clients and stand out in a crowded market? How do you know what to charge them? Where do you even begin with all the business and legal stuff? What systems do you need in place to help you grow and manage your time so you don't get overwhelmed?

What would it be worth...

To have a system that brings quality clients to YOU?

No more posting to Instagram in desperation or feeling rejected when you don't get a response from a potential client.

To have prices that make you feel valued?

Imagine actually enjoying those nights and weekends of envelope addressing because you're getting paid a fair price.

To have a clear process for managing your schedule?

Stop double- (or triple-) booking yourself and stressing out about finishing your projects. Imagine scheduling time to rest, recharge, or develop and practice new skills.

To have legal policies and contracts that let you sleep at night?

We've all been there. That client relationship that started out well, but quickly goes downhill. What if you had the right legal protections in place to prevent you from losing time, money, and your sanity?

To have a business that makes you happy?

Imagine that your business gave you the joy of creating art for others, and gave you enough income to take vacations, pay down debt, buy a house, or even quit your day job.

What would that be worth to you? Possibly thousands of dollars per year?

With All-At-Once Access, you can watch these at your own pace, and in any order you choose.

Lesson 1

Lettering LegalLY

Instructor: Christina Scalera

Should your business be a sole proprietorship? An LLC? Something else? What are the benefits and drawbacks of each? You'll learn how to find the information you need based on your location and how to use contracts, copyrights, and trademarks to protect yourself and your creative work. (Sample contract included!)

Lesson 2

Setup, Systems, and Pricing

Instructor: Laura Hooper/Alyssa Hooper

You'll learn how to set up your space, whether it's at home or in a studio. What tools should you keep on hand, and which ones can you purchase as-needed? What systems do you need to run your business? Learn how to manage your time and how to price your work fairly so that you'll stay sane, love your job, and make a profit. (Includes pricing for large format or unique projects!)

Lesson 3

Managing Your Clients

Instructor: Laura Hooper/Alyssa Hooper

Discover Laura Hooper Calligraphy's complete client intake process for envelope calligraphy, full stationery orders, and day-of items. What's a typical timeline for each type of job? What are appropriate client response times? When and how do you say no to a client? Learn how to set fair boundaries and expectations with your clients and how to automate your communication so you'll have more time for the creative stuff.

Lesson 4

Finding Quality Clients

Instructor: Laura Hooper/Alyssa Hooper

Laura and Alyssa answer the all-important question: how do you find clients? You'll discover when to use paid vs. free marketing, what to include on your website, and how to stand out in a crowded industry. How do you get involved with photo shoots? When shouldn't you work for free? Learn how to network so you can attract clients that love your work and appreciate your time.

Lesson 5

Growing Your Business

Instructor: Laura Hooper/Alyssa Hooper

Alright, you're ready to grow! How do you set up an online shop? How do you pack and ship physical products? You'll discover how and when to bring on additional staff, and which tasks you should delegate to operate a successful business that doesn't stress you out - because you can do anything, but you can't do everything.

Lesson 6

All About Printing

Instructor: Ashley Buzzy

Even if you don't offer printing, it's useful to understand it when you're creating work for clients that will eventually be printed. You'll learn about the different printing methods, paper types, and how to find a great printer to work with so you can create high quality work for your clients and expand your menu of services.

Praise for the Bootcamp

"It gave me the confidence to go ahead and start up a business - something I had been wanting to do for months, but had no idea how to start. It really laid out the most important steps to create a business and to keep it successfully running." - Molly

"I have recommended this bootcamp to everyone I have spoken to because it has helped me get over some hurdles that were overwhelming me emotionally." - Serena

"I liked that there was plenty of info and background but also the candidness of the beautiful gals who shared their stories and tips. It was chock full of useful insight." - Cynthia

"The proprietary information is invaluable and it's great to connect with other calligraphers." - Rachel

"I love that I can re-watch any of the classes." - Adela

"I loved the extra features, the Q+As were just amazing. I like how down to earth the instructors are. There's no BS about how 'easy' it is to be an entrepreneur and they encourage you to seek help and outsource if possible, which kind of goes against the 'hustle' mentality that a lot of solo business owners have." - Melody

"I feel confident about pricing and really good about the steps I've taken to treat my business as a business. I'm in the midst of buttoning up my order forms/contracts so that they work for me and I don't feel like I'm questioning whether I'm leaving something out anymore. I had been putting off reaching out to local venues and others in the wedding industry (probably out of fear) and this bootcamp inspired me to go for it. I'm happy to have all of the content and a framework for how to continue forward. Also, the bloopers :)" - Ashley

Frequently asked questions

Will this apply to people outside the U.S.? Most content in the Bootcamp can apply anywhere in the world - but please keep in mind that legal and contract topics will be U.S.-focused. The laws may be similar in your country, but it's up to you to research further. Even within the U.S., legal requirements vary from state to state - so please do your due diligence before making any business decisions.

What's your refund policy? Due to the instant-access nature of this course, we're not able to offer refunds.

I don't know if my work is good enough. True story: even the seasoned pros feel like there's room for improvement. The bottom line is that if people admire your work and are willing to pay you for it, you can sell your services and start a business. And if people admire your work but want you to work for free... well, we spend a lot of time in the Bootcamp on pricing and setting boundaries. :)

Do I need to already have an established business? No, you don't need an established business (though you may have one and not realize it... it's called a sole proprietorship!) Starting with Lesson 1, Christina Scalera will explain all of your options for setting up your business, and the steps you should take to do it properly. You'll feel a lot better knowing this information before you get started on your business journey, and you'll learn a lot about how your business might need to change as you grow.

I don't quite know what I want to offer yet. That's okay! Chances are, what you offer will change as your skills improve, as your interests change, as you take on new projects, and as you learn what's enjoyable and profitable in your business. Laura Hooper took on every project she could in her early years. Over time, she's streamlined her offering and developed her niche, and you can too.

How long are the lessons? Each lesson is approximately 45-60 minutes, broken down into manageable chapters.

Do we get to keep our videos and handouts? Yes! Your lessons never expire. You can come back and watch them or download them anytime you'd like.

Who is this for? This Bootcamp is perfect for you if you're serious about starting a calligraphy business to earn an income on the side, or even full-time. If you're motivated, if you want to provide awesome services to your clients, and if you're ready to take action and make your dream a reality, we'd love to have you join us!

Who is it not for? If you're content to sit back and watch the video lessons, and hope that your business will build itself and attract quality clients without doing any actual work, then the Bootcamp isn't for you. It's also not for you if you're running a fairly established lettering business but just have a few questions about things you could tweak or improve (in that case, you should check out personalized consulting with Laura Hooper!)
